Our Work

Real Memphis jobs, start to finish

What the job actually looks like

These are photographs of our own crews on Memphis properties — not stock pictures. Most of what we do is large, awkward trees close to houses, which is the work that needs a crane, a bucket truck and somebody who has done it before.

Robinson Tree bucket truck with its boom raised into a bare oak above a two-storey brick house, a Bobcat skid-steer parked on the lawn beside a pile of cut brush
Bucket truck and skid-steer working a large oak over the roofline. The loader does the hauling so the lawn takes one pass instead of twenty.
View looking straight up at a crew member in a Hi-Ranger bucket beside a crane boom and rigging hook, working in the bare canopy of a large oak against a clear blue sky
Crane and bucket together in the canopy. Each limb is rigged and lifted out rather than dropped — which is how a tree comes out of a tight garden without damaging what is underneath.
A large oak cut down to a tall bare spar beside a brick bungalow, with a Terex bucket truck boom extended alongside it and cut branches covering the front garden
A removal part-way through: the canopy is off and the trunk is coming down in sections. Taking it in pieces is slower than felling it and it is the only way to do this one safely.
A very large oak trunk section lying on a lawn next to a grapple truck, with a freshly cut stump in the foreground and a chainsaw resting against the log
The butt section of the same kind of oak, waiting on the grapple truck. Worth seeing for scale — this is what is standing over a roof before it comes down.
A tall oak in autumn colour photographed from below against a blue sky, with a bucket truck boom extended up into the branches and the roof of a brick house to one side
Reaching the top of a mature oak from the drive. Getting the truck into the right position is most of the job on a tight lot.
Close-up of a split in a tree trunk showing a hollow cavity filled with crumbling decayed wood and several shelf fungus brackets growing from the opening
Shelf fungus and punky wood inside a split trunk. Fruiting bodies like these mean the decay is already well established inside the stem — this is the sort of thing a health inspection is looking for.

If one of your trees looks like something on this page, we have almost certainly done that job before.
